September 15, 2016 Rebba Raine attends an editorial meeting for her forthcoming book, I Was Never Broken, along with her co-author, Robyn Jamison. The draft is back from the editor and will be completed soon and sent off to the publisher. It’s getting very exciting!
October 2-4, 2016 Rebba Raine will be part of the Rosh Hashanah services at Temple Israel in Schulenberg, TX. Rabbi Rokie, joining us from Vancouver, BC, Canada, will also be in attendance. Both will be telling stories as Maggidahs.
October 11-12, 2016 Rebba Raine will be part of the Yom Kippur services at Temple Israel in Schulenberg, TX.
November 2-4, 2016 Rebba Raine will attend The Re-Entry Vision Summit here in Austin, sponsored by the Sheriff’s Department and being held at Airport Hilton.
November 3-6, 2016 HaShem’s House International will be hosting, world reknown Israeli storyteller, Noa Boaum. She will be speaking at the JCC on Saturday, November 5, 2015.
November 10-13, 2016 Rebba Raine will be attending A World Alliance of Interfaith Clergy’s annual conference in Marriottsville, Maryland.

December 8, 2012, Saturday, Rebba Raine and the HaShem’s House Family (Ian -Rebba’s son- is coming for the holiday all the way from Bound Brook, NJ.) light the first candle of Hanukah on multiple menorahs, eat lots of fried foods and potato latkes (pancakes) which Rebba Raine makes from scratch! This year she plans to make some healthy sweet potato latkes as well as homemade applesauce! (If you don’t know why we eat so many fried foods on Chanukah* ask Rebba Raine.)

* The English spelling of Hebrew and Yiddish words sometimes is confusing as different spellings are acceptable. So the holiday where we light the menorah could be spelled Chanukah or Hanukah. The day of rest is spelled either Shabbos, Shabbas or Shabbat.

February 19, 2013, Tuesday Meeting with Rev. Michael Stuart of Community Spirit. I started out mentoring him, now we mentor each other. We’re sort of a minister’s support group. We always have something healthy to eat as we meet @ Jason’s up at Hancock Center. They have a soft serve machine so dessert is always a given, a freebie and delicious.
February 22, 2013 Friday Night, Shabbat, at the Firepit Minyon over on Bluebonnet Drive. We will be celebrating Purim around the outdoor Firepit. I will be bringing Hamantashen.

May 22, 2013: Chair Yoga with Everitt Allen. If you live in or near Austin and are interested, talk to me. Everitt is starting a new class at Yoga, Yoga South. He’s been my Yoga instructor for about five years. He is wonderful particularly if you have health challenges.
May 24, 2013: Hashem’s House field trip to see “The Great Gatsby” at Violet Crown Theatre.
May 29, 2014 Ian is coming home for a visit. Call the Ranch or Ian on his cell. He’ll be at Chaos in Tejas most of the weekend but we will be celebrating his and his twin’s (S. Michael) 35th birthday early. The real date is June 7th but we don’t get together as a group very much. And, it is safe now to share with all of you that Ian and his finance, the lovely, Diane, have set a wedding date. Next Mother’s Day weekend we will be celebrating their nuptials on May 10th. But for now, as Davide, their sister, likes to say, “the band is getting together again!”

June 20, 2013: Davide, expecting my first grandchild early in September, a boy according to all tests, turns 43. Now that’s REALLY not possible, is it? Mazel Tov Davide on both your birthday and little Davis Philip Klein, whose sonogram picture is right here above my computer. I can hardly wait for his arrival on or before (hopefully not after Erev Rosh Hashanah). For those of you who always come to Hashem’s House for dinner and services on Erev Rosh Hashanah (Sept. 9th this year) please stay tuned for information as it becomes available. We will definitely celebrate the holiday but I haven’t worked out the details yet.
September 4, 2013 : Davis Philip Klein arrives. 1:47 am, 7 pounds, 10 ounces, 19.5 inches. Mother, Davide Dickson; Father, Travis Klein; and Grandmother, Rabbi-Rev. Dr, Mama Raine, are all doing fine!
